Balloon embolization of a basilar bifurcation aneurysm.

چکیده
With interventional neuroangiography it is possible to treat medium-sized (diameter ranging from 6 to 15 mm) saccular aneurysms while preserving the parent vessel. In this procedure a balloon is introduced, inflated, and detached into the aneurysm, occluding the sac and the neck [1-5J. Endovascular treatment of inoperable large and giant aneurysms, may require, if tolerated, the permanent balloon occlusion of the parent artery [6-9]. A patient with a medium-sized basilar bifurcation aneurysm presented with symptoms referable to subarachnoid hemorrhage and vasospasm. Therapeutic embolization of the aneurysm was successfully performed with a detachable silicone balloon.

to treat with endovascular embolization. Balloon remodeling and stent-assisted coil embolization have been increasingly available therapeutic strategy in the treatment of these complex lesions (1-3). To our knowledge, there are a few papers that wide-necked basilar bifurcation aneurysms were treated with the Yconfigured dual stent assisted coil embolization (4-6). But all patients were unruptur...
متن کاملY-configured double stent-assisted coil embolization with double microcatheter technique for complex basilar bifurcation aneurysm.
Y-configured double stent technique is useful for coil embolization of a bifurcation wide neck aneurysm while preserving the patency of the two important vessels. However, if the important vessels emanating directly from the aneurysm comprised four vessels, two vessels not deployed, Y-stents might not be preserved with the Y-stent technique by itself. We report a case treated with Y-configured ...

OBJECTIVE A new double-lumen balloon catheter was being developed for the treatment of cerebral aneurysms. The purpose of this study is to report our initial experience of a double-lumen balloon catheter for the treatment of wide-necked aneurysms. MATERIALS AND METHODS Seventeen patients (mean age, 63 years; range, 45-80 years) with wide-necked, with or without a branch-incorporated aneurysms...
متن کاملCoil Embolization of a Ruptured Basilar Tip Aneurysm Associated with Bilateral Cervical Internal Carotid Artery Occlusion: A Case Report and Literature Review
We report here on a rare case of a ruptured basilar tip aneurysm that was successfully treated with coil embolization in the bilateral cervical internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusions with abnormal vascular networks from the posterior circulation. A 43-year old man with a familial history of moyamoya disease presented with subarachnoid hemorrhage. Digital subtraction angiography demonstrated c...
